My chosen film genre is horror which in my view is the genre to go for as the there are many paths you can take while doing horror as a genre. Horror is focused to appeal to thrill seekers a mature ages around 18 and on.

If I wanted to cut down my research into my target audience then I would use the chart above showing the two main sub categories in comedy which are thriller horror films which are based more towards the thrill seekers and gorier. Action horror more tone downed and just a few scary bits.

Age

Demographics for horror genre show teenagers and young adults who want an adrenaline rush from being fearful of something/someone. Males aged 16-35 are most likely to watch horror films. Our target audience age is between 15-25 years. This is because of firstly, our certificate choice means that people below 15 cannot view it, so our audience needs to be for young adults. Furthermore, though more men are most likely to watch horror films, our target audience is aimed at women because of the storyline. This may attract women to watch horror films with their boyfriends, which would help boost our revenue in cinemas.
